North Vancouver native Dorothea Hayley has been a soloist with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Capriccio Basel (Switzerland), and the Bourgas Symphony (Bulgaria). She has performed in festivals including the Kirchberg International Chamber Music Festival (Germany), Solothurn Summer Music Festival (Switzerland), and the Orford Arts Centre Festival, and in contemporary music forums such as the SoundSCAPE Festival (Italy), Performer’s Voice Symposium (Singapore), Chants libres, CIRMMT, and the Canadian Music Centre. Dorothea completed vocal studies at McGill University, the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien and the Franz-Schubert-Institut, and is the recipient of grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et des letters du Québec. She holds a Doctor of Music from the Université de Montréal. |
